There was unrest in Enugu state following the alleged murder of Hon. Lucky Okechukwu, the state’s APC youth leader, by unidentified gunmen who invaded Igboeze South Local Government Area.
Even though the incident’s specifics are still hazy, Okechukwu was reportedly shot dead on Saturday night in Unadu town.
On Sunday morning, a party leader in the state confirmed the incident to newsmen under the condition of anonymity since he was not authorised to speak for the party.
“Yes, it is correct. I am not sure of his exact name, but we learned that he was killed last night by unidentified shooters. The party will undoubtedly release a statement on the incident if it wishes to address it, the source claimed.
Police have not yet confirmed the incident. DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the state police command’s spokesperson, did not return calls or a text message requesting information about the incident
