Other studies back up this claim, claiming that staring at your phone’s screen requires your eyes to constantly focus and refocus, make continual reflexes to moving and changing visuals, and communicate fast fluctuating images to the brain.

To make matters worse, unlike in a well-lit room, using your phone in the dark puts an inordinate amount of strain on your vision, perhaps resulting in an eye stroke caused by a sudden narrowing of blood vessels in the retina. Furthermore, such disorders should be treated as soon as possible because they can lead to permanent blindness
