The clerk of business and rules In the national Assemble Mr Ikalumhe Cornelius, has congratulated the former Governor of Borno State, Senator Kassim Shettima, on his nomination as the running mate to the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Ikalumhe, in a chat with AfemaiReporters in Jattu, however, urged Okowa to immediately embark on a reconciliation drive within the APC, especially to candidates who lost out during the selection process.
He said this has become necessary to ensure peace and to garner needed support for the success of the ticket in the 2023 presidential election.
“I join APC party leaders, party faithful, and supporters in congratulating my brother and friend, H.E Kassim Shettima, on his emergence as the Vice Presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Nigeria.
“This is a sound choice by APC presidential flag bearer, H. E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu and APC.
“No doubt, Shettima brings immense electoral value to the APC ticket and is highly resourceful and he is prepared for the office of the VP.
“I urge every party leader and member to now go to work to ensure the success of the ticket at the 2023 polls,” Ikalumhe said.
