The Labour Party in Orhionmwon and Uhunmwode Federal Constituency has come under serious attack as former Speaker of the Edo State Assembly and a serial loser of APC primaries to the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. (Mrs.) Elizabeth Ativie is alleged to have bribed the LP national chairman to swap her name with the winner of the party primary in the Labour Party.
Ativie who was recently described by Edo APC on her defection to the Labour Party as a retiring politician who has fallen from grace to grass after her unsuccessful bid to swap her name with the winner of the APC House of Rep primary in the same constituency by parting with over twenty-five million naira has continued into the Labour Party with rare political desperation.
Allegations from the Labour Party are that Ativie has gone up to the national in her usual character of self-imposition which has seen her serve twice as a member of the Edo State Assembly with no single project or landmark law, not even a road to her village to show. Her style which is, “pay millions on top to steal the people’s mandate” seems to be breeding confusion in the chapter of the party as members are accusing the national chairman of a plot to make money from wherever at the detriment of Obi’s campaign for the presidency.
While it is not clear at the time of this report how much Hon. Elizabeth Ativie paid the national chairman to replace the original winner of the primary election, members of the party at the chapter have vowed to resist the theft and brigandage that has become synonymous with Ativie’s political career.
The last may not have been heard how Ativie who took last in the APC House of Reps primary, paid twenty-five million in a failed deal to have her name replace the winner could swiftly move into the Labour Party and take the ticket of another political party where she wasn’t a participant in their party primaries, against the provisions of the 2022 Electoral Act as amended.
