As the results for the 2023 presidential elections continue to be compiled, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has secured victory in Bayelsa State.
Atiku’s victory was confirmed in the early hours of Tuesday at the Baylesa State presidential election collation center.
The PDP received 68,818 votes, surpassing the Labour Party’s Peter Obi’s 49,975 votes and the All Progressives Congress (APCBola )’s Tinubu’s 42,572 votes.
New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso received 540 votes.
Across its eight local government areas, Bayelsa State had 1,056,862 registered voters and 177,368 accredited voters (LGAs).
It received 165,325 valid votes and 7,786 rejected votes for a total of 173,111 votes.
