A 60 year old man, Umaru Mohammed has been arrested for conveying rifles and ammunition to bandits and kidnappers along the highways across Northern and Southwestern Nigeria, using a special compartment he created, to hide the rifles and ammunition in his car.
According to Mohammed who was arrested on Wednesday June 16, says he collects 200 thousand naira from the kidnappers and bandits for conveying the rifles to the kidnapping point along the highways and days later, another 200 thousand naira for taking the rifles back after the kidnappings and ransom collections.
He said security agents don’t suspect him along the highways because of his old age.
He alongside his gang were arrested by the Intelligence Response Squad of the police and rifles and ammunition were recovered from him.
