The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Etsako Central Local Government Area Chapter of Edo State has been drawn to a Purported Adoption of an Edo State House of Assembly Aspirant, Mr. Patrick Agbona Ikhane by the Local Government Women Leader, Chief Mrs Gladys Momoh without recourse to the Party Constitution.
The Party, said, the action of the LGA Women Leader is not only embarrassing, but meant to destabilize the Party in the Area at a time when the Leadership of the APC in the Local Government are doing their best to build a more Progressive. and United Party.
The APC in the Local Government Area is a disciplined Party made up of Members that believe in the supremacy of the Party.
There is no doubt that the LGA Women Leader has brought the Party to Public disrepute and it was a flagrant disobedience to the directive given by the State Leadership of the Party to officials not to Adopt, Endorse or impose any Aspirant on the Members of the Party.
APC is a Progressive and law-abiding Party that respect it’s own Constitution and the Nigeria Constitution
The action of Chief, Mrs Gladys Momoh no doubt, has some Political undertones that suggest that the LGA Women Leader is being used by the Ruling Party to cause crisis and acrimony our Aspirants.
The APC is more worried that a Women Leader that is supposed to be an Umpire in a Contest is now the one playing the game.
The Party Passes implicit Vote of Confidence on Chief J. B. Aloye whose emergence as the Leader of our great Party in the Local Government has recorded huge and important Victories in our Party for the Past Seven Years.
The APC is worried about the fact that a Man that has not even informed the Party of his intention to contest for the Edo State House of Assembly Member Representing Etsako Central State Constituency is paraded by the LGA Women Leader.
Party Officials at the Ward and LGA levels are warned to desist from actions capable of sending bad signals to Aspirants as the Party has vowed to provide a level playing field to all Contestants no matter how highly placed to test their popularity.
The Party reiterates that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress in the Local Government Area will set up a high Powered Disciplinary Committee Against Chief Mrs Gladys Momoh.
It will be recalled that Chief Mrs Gladys Momoh at the Weekend invited the Ward Women Leaders to a meeting at Auchi without the approval of the Party Leadership where She pronounced the Purported Adoption.
