On behalf of the great people of Edo South Senatorial District, we want to use this medium to inform our leaders that party members from Edo South have resolved to be part of a free and fair primaries as required by the party constitution and the electoral act as amended to nominate who represents us in the Senate.
We want our leaders to know that we will not be part of any imposition of candidate all in the name of consensus. If such is done it will lead to litigation which will not be good for our party this time we are fighting to reclaim power in the state.
Our delegates are ready to nominate who they know the electorates want that can deliver for the party. Let’s allow them do their work as this is not the time to impose any candidate on us that cannot take us anywhere but rather cause division in the party and take us back to where we were.
We therefore call on all LGA chairmen, ward chairmen party faithfuls to be resolute and speak loud to reject any doctored delegates list that does not emanate from the ward level. Party faithfuls should be resolute in resisting the unknown leaders from the state secretariat who are acting for their selfish interests. We don’t want any imposition of aspirant who does not represent the choice of the people and cannot win any election. Let everyone go to the field and test his or her popularity.
We are ready to support whoever wins in the primary election and it is only through free and fair primaries we can nominate the candidate of our choice who is credible that can win election for the party.
We are ready to move forward so it is forward ever and backward never.
We want to categorically state that if the will of the people does not prevail and an aspirant is imposed on us to represent Edo South in the Senate, the end result will be litigation in the court.
