The Edo State chapter of Labour Party (LP) has urged residents of the state to disregard rumour making the rounds that Labour party in Edo state is divided with a parallel exco.
He said Labour Party remains one indivisible party that is committed in delivering Peter Obi in the state in the 2023 elections.
A statement signed by the party’s state Publicity Secretary, Comrade Sam Uroupa, which was made available to INFO DAILY, said the rumour of division in Edo Labour Party is an imagination of some mischief makers, just as he stressed that the party has just one executive at the state, local governments, and ward levels in the state.
Uroupa, who warned those behind such unfounded rumour to desist from such act, also urged those who wish to join the party in its moving train to do so through the appropriate and legitimate channels.
“I wish to state here that the rumour that Labour Party is divided in Edo is a lie peddled by some mischief makers. LP remains one indivisible party led by comrade Kelly Ogbaloi and his team both at the LGAs and ward level working under them. If we have just one executive, then where did this mischief makers see a division?
“I urge Edo people to disregard this unfounded rumour that has no iota of truth in it,” he added.
Uroupa called on residents of the state to go and get their PVC so as to deliver all Labour Party’s candidates at all levels in the 2023 elections.
