Dear state chairman,
I bring you greetings from far away in Europe; and to draw your attention to a similar trend that, if not quickly tamed, may hurt our presidential candidate outing in the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.
Some weeks ago, Nigerians woke up to a big show of shame by some supposed adults that allowed sentiments to push them into making a mockery of the APC presidential candidate’s health and campaign mantra “EMILOKAN” in a gyration song.
This very act has been widely condemned by well-meaning Nigerians, at home and abroad, some of whom got irritated and withdrew their initial support for the LP and PDP presidential candidates.
Sir, it may interest you to know that the community of People living with a disability did not take that behaviour lightly, and they have also openly vowed to retaliate in equal proportion by massively voting for the APC presidential candidate.
However, while we are working hard to garner as much sympathy and support as we can get from the mistakes of our opponent supporters, the Edo state APC youth leader surprisingly came out with a remix of the abusive song, though in favour of the APC presidential candidate.
This singular act to many of us makes no sense at all. Irrespective of the message the State APC youth leader was trying to send out to the public through the song.
The reasons why I and other Nigerian youths sympathetic to the course of the APC presidential candidate considered the remixed song total nonsense; are stated below.
(A) Comrade Tony Kabaka should be told that the forthcoming election will entertain little or none of agberoism because the majority of Nigerian youths are fully involved in this election, and from what we have witnessed so far, they would not mind going to war to defend their votes.
(b) Comrade Tony Kabaka’s numerous abusive songs that he did against the Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki during the 2019/2020 campaign, played a major role in why Edo south voted massively for him, against the Candidate Tony Kabaka supported, to the extent the said Tony Kabaka woefully lost in his polling unit.
(c) I understand that political parties are gradually setting up their campaign structures across the country. I am appealing to the State APC Campaign council, as matter of fact sought for vocally intelligent youths, and with an appealing outlook to help sell our candidate’s manifesto, in a way we can win the support of Nigerian voters for our party.
(d) APC under President Buhari has more negative than positive reports to talk about during the campaign. Therefore the party should shun any attempt to further escalate the hate for the party by allowing anyone like Tony Kabaka to engage in a show of shame, all in the name of defending the APC presidential candidate.
(e) Comrade Tony Kabaka should be asked to henceforth cease to speak for the party, especially when a spokesperson for the Campaign council has been appointed. This is because Nigerian voters now scrutinize every word politicians say to them about the coming election, and a little mistake can lead to a massive loss in our support base.
Sir, it is my utmost expectation that our party, the APC consider these few points of mine and quickly curtail this ugly incidence from rearing its head again, since we would not want to experience a similar hurdle we suffered in Edo south, during the 2019/2020 governorship election, because of one loquacious party member that would never hesitate to throw caution to the wind, once a camera is placed to his face.
