Ex-aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Comrade Jude Imagwe has Condemned on Goodluck Jonathan by his former colleague, Reno Omokri and others over tinubu visit.
Recall that Reno Omokri, has slammed the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, over his visit to the former President, reminding him that he spent five years attacking him.
Recall that Tinubu, Tuesday night, paid a scheduled visit to Jonathan in Abuja.
The meeting, which was held behind closed doors in Jonathan’s residence, was in continuation of Tinubu’s nationwide consultation with critical stakeholders.
Reacting, Imagwe described his boss as the best leader Nigeria had.
Imagwe said: Reno got it wrong, Jonathan represents the definition of modern democracy and a true democrat.
It is very instructive that we understand the post we share in public. I’ve read a lot of negative comments about my boss, former Nigerian President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for receiving the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his running mate, and some APC governors.
First and foremost, for the sake of clarity. Goodluck Jonathan is one of Nigeria’s best president.
Secondly, he is an elder statesman in the Nigeria, a position that elevates him to the status of father to all, and he must be treated as such. It will be a mistake to overlook his person, especially if you are seeking to occupy an office he previously held. If not for consultation or advice, all candidates should pay him homage.
Thirdly, the game of politics is all about winning, and any strategy that leads to victory is a winning strategy have always been used, which explains the adage that in politics, there is no such thing as a permanent enemy or permanent friend; what has always remained constant is INTEREST.
If Sen Tinubu has made it a part of his strategy to visit everyone, that right should not be revoked.
However, the decision is now in the hands of those who have been consulted, as their right to choose is also completely theirs to make.
