Veteran Nigerian actor and spokesperson for the Labour Party Presidential (Peter Obi) Campaign Council, Kenneth Okonkwo, has called for the sack of the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu.
Okonkwo, who was reacting to the controversy that trailed the purported declaration of Aishatu Dahiru (Binani) as the governor-elect of Adamawa by the Resident Electoral Commission (REC) and the subsequent reversal of the decision by national headquarters of the commission, said spokesperson of INEC also needs to be booted out of office.
“What is happening in Adamawa today is simply the amplification of the illegality, corruption and criminality perpetrated by Prof Mahmood and his Spokesperson Festus Okoye on Feb 25. What you compromise to get, you compromise to keep. Mahmood and Okoye should be sacked immediately, ” Okonkwo said in a tweet on Sunday.
In an earlier tweet on a report by Premium Times which claimed, that based on information in INEC portal, Obi won presidential election in Rivers instead of Bola Tinubu that was announced by the Commission, Okonkwo said Obi was robbed in the poll.
“He won the Presidential election and we must recover our mandate. God will continue to torment them until they confess to the whole truth,” Okonkwo said
