Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborovweri has appointed Vanguard’s senior reporter, Festus Ahon as Chief Press Secretary.
Some journalists in the state were expecting Dennis Otu who worked with him while he was the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly to continue to hold this position.
This appointment follows his swearing-in as governor of the oil-rich state on Monday.

Publisher of Secret Reporters who reacted to the news in a Facebook post, said: “As I type, he’s currently in Governor’s office with Sheriff.”
Adding: “He will be announcing the SSG and Chief of Staff shortly.”
“Festus Ahon, the journalist hated by Asaba media crew and without media network now in charge of them.
“Now the cookies begins to crumble.
“A bad appointment I must say,” his post said.
Meanwhile, when contacted, Ahon told Oasis Magazine: “The news of the appointment is confirmed.”
