Dennis Idahosa, a member of the House of Representatives, has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Femi Gbajabiamila as his Chief of Staff, described the appointment as a “Round peg in a round hole”.
Gbajabiamila appointment was announced on Friday and he is expected to assume office on June 14.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Friday Aghedo, Idahosa, said Gbajabiamila has the capacity and competence to function effectively in the capacity.
The lawmaker noted that the Speaker’s previous national assignments has prepared him well for this position.
The legislator, who represents Ovia federal constituency of Edo state, said Gbajabiamila‘s years of parliamentary experience will also come in handy for this new assignment.
He said, “President Bola Tinubu needs the support of the parliament to enable him achieve his good intentions for the country. With the appointment of Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila who has been a parliamentarian for the past two decades and risen from minority, majority leader of the house up to his current position as the Speaker, he will be a very good liaison between executive and the legislature for the benefit of Nigerians.
“His is well suited for the job and we commend the President for his foresight in announcing this appointment.”
