HON. PIUS ALILE’S CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO HON. PROF. JULIUS IHONVBERE ON HIS EMERGENCE AS MAJORITY LEADER, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
On behalf of myself and my family, I congratulate you Hon. Prof. Julius Ihonvbere on your well deserved elevation to the position of Majority Leader of the House of Representatives.
This is an assignment given in recognition of your proven mental and physical capacity to lead towards positive outcomes. For decades you have been a household name due to your outstanding scholarship and representation of the oppressed – qualities you have magnified since you were elected into the House of Representatives. Of course, you have a trail of distinction in public service as Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Project Monitoring; Secretary to Edo State Government, and Chairman, House Committee on Basic Education.
Given your cerebral nature and your wealth of experience, I know that you have been positioned to lead the national discourse to the satisfaction of our great Party, your immediate Constituency, Edo State and Nigeria as a whole.
With a man of excellent thought and lucid articulation like you in the leadership of the 10th National Assembly, there is hope for a vibrant and very productive Assembly which we require now to partner with President Bola Tinubu in charting the path of progress for a renewed Nigeria.
I am confident that you will bring to bear the full value of your intelligence on the task of leading proceedings, debates and resolving issues, which hopefully should precipitate the progress we desire and deserve as a nation.
