… As Beneficiaries appreciate Prince Clem Agba
In the ongoing implementation of the second round of NG-CARES grants, a total of 362 individuals across the three senatorial districts of Edo State, whose businesses were negatively impacted by COVID-19, have received financial aid.
The NG-CARES initiative was initiated by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration through a World Bank loan to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the vulnerable by providing livelihood support and grants.
Launched in January 2022 and coordinated by the Ministry of Budget and National Planning, under the leadership of the former Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, the programme has achieved significant success, positively affecting the lives of over 2 million beneficiaries.
In May 2023, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba announced the extension of the programme by an additional 12 months, allowing for the inclusion of more vulnerable individuals across the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The beneficiaries of the second round of the NG-CARES grant in Edo State were selected from Egor, Ovia North East, Esan North East, Owan West, and Etsako West Local Government Areas and received grants ranging from N140,000 to N200,000, along with other relevant forms of assistance.
