News trickled in Wednesday evening that the Ondo State House of Assembly has commenced the process of impeaching the Ondo State Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, a man who held sway for about three months while the governor was away on medical leave, carrying his duties efficiently without so much fuss.
One would wonder his offense for such a hammer at a time when the Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, who has become an aggressor in his desperate bid to become the State’s next governor at all cost, has been going about making trouble, harassing and blackmailing the governor, his principal without any consequences.
Between Shaibu and the Ondo Deputy Governor who really has committed an impeachable offence and what else can a deputy governor do before he is sanctioned?
*A deputy Governor who attempted to produce a *parallel speaker in the Edo State House of Assembly, working with the opposition party, so as to undo and impeach his governor.*
*A deputy governor who attempted to break into the governor’s private residence while his principal was in a private meeting with some stakeholders in the State.*
*A deputy governor who dragged his governor to court just to embarrass him.*
*A deputy governor who without respect and regard staged a walk-out in the presence of the governor, his principal and other dignitaries, alongside his aides during a state function.*
*A deputy governor, who alongside his security aides, attempted to break into the personal office of the governor, his principal even though he was aware that the governor wasn’t in the office.*
And in all of these, no one is considering impeaching Shaibu in Edo? What a lucky man have we?
The luxury Shaibu still enjoys – walking about causing troubles as deputy governor of Edo State is just because of Governor Obaseki’s respect for “the* rule of law and democracy.
Hopefully, he doesn’t continue to abuse this privilege while pushing the governor to the brink.
Those whom the gods want to destroy, they first make mad.
Shaibu has gone mad in his desperation to become Edo’s next governor at all cost, no matter whose ox is gored. He has become so dangerous in his desperation and must be reined in before he causes more damage in his inordinate and desperate bid to succeed his principal.
