On behalf of myself and my family, I, Hon. Pius Alile heartily congratulate His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, on the occasion of his 7th Coronation Anniversary, and royal birthday.
Ogidigan, indeed your seventh year on the throne of your great ancestors, is the perfect occasion to eulogize you for the Renaissance you have inspired of all that made Edos a proud race in times past. We are happy that you have again put the Benins in the front row of cultural recognition for which we envied and respected. You have in this short period shown the potential of a legendary king.
My great king, we the Edos say, as our fathers said, that Ewuare is the perfect illustration of a king. This awesome attribute wrought in fitting tribute to the first Ewuare, whom no doubt, many believe you are his reincarnation, applies to you. Whether it is a correct belief or not, your strides have given validity to your deification. And again you have given the Benins their pride of place among races.
Umogun; Oba N’Edo ya hio; Urhukpa N’Oba Yan Edo, may you live long to manifest the greatness of your majesty to glory of the Benin Kingdom and the Benin people.
On this day of the anniversary of your glorious accession I join all Edos the world over to celebrate you and offer the timeless prayer we offer in obeisance: “Oba gha tor okpere!”
