Edo Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Announces Reviewed 2026 Hajj Fare As Registration Ends December 5th 2025

The Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board is pleased to announce the reviewed Hajj fare for the 2026 pilgrimage season.

The announcement follows the approval from the Office of the Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, at the Ummu Jood Office, Makkah, after a crucial meeting with all state executives.

The 2026 Hajj fare for intending pilgrims from Edo State has been fixed at ₦7,991,141.76 (Seven million, nine hundred and ninety-one thousand, one hundred and forty-one naira, seventy-six kobo), representing a reduction from the previous ₦8,561,013.67 (Eight million, five hundred and sixty-one thousand, thirteen naira, sixty-seven kobo).

Compared to the amount charged for the 2025 Hajj exercise, each pilgrim will pay an average of ₦800,000 less.

Meanwhile, the Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Alhaji Abdullahi Saleh Usman, in the company of NAHCON Commissioners and the leadership of the various State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the 2026 Hajj and Umrah season in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the Nigerian delegation.

This modest adjustment in the fare was achieved after extensive consultations to ensure inclusivity and fairness in the decision-making process.

The Executive Secretary of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abdulkabir Muhammadkabir Eranga, commended the collective efforts of all stakeholders, describing the reviewed fare as a product of broad collaboration between the State Government, NAHCON leadership and the Forum of State Executives.

He further appreciated the unwavering support of the Edo State Government and urged all intending pilgrims to adhere strictly to the registration timelines and Saudi guidelines. He emphasized that all payments must be completed on or before 5th December, 2025, while encouraging early payment and timely registration.
