The widow of the late political activist and spokesperson for the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin has recounted the shocking final minutes with her late husband.
She spoke with The Punch on how the late comrade was on the verge of recovery after he tested for Covid-19.
Dr. Mrs Joe Odumakin stated that her late husband had asked for their son and his gadgets when he came back to consciousness after his oxygen levels dropped.

Yinka Odumakin died of Covid-19 related causes on Saturday, April 3rd.
She stated that her late husband was transferred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) where he was placed on ventilator at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Although, according to her, his lungs and respiratory system had been affected.

“The people with me were telling me that I should not go to see his body, but I refused. I moved in and saw his face was covered; I removed the cloth. I was given gloves. I started saying a lot of things to him, but he did not respond. That was when I knew that comrade was gone.”
Among dignitaries that had visited the residence of the deceased were the Aare Ona Kakanfo, Aare Gani Adams, and the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Olusegun Ogungbemide.
