SENATOR Roland Owie has lauded Governor Godwin Obaseki for Signing into law anti Community Development Association which most commonly in Edo South has used to exploit builders and developers alike.
His statement made available to Trojan.com.ng correspondent reads in parts:
“I wish to thank His Excellency The Executive Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, the former Attorney General of Edo State, Bar Mrs Yinka Omorogbe, the Speaker and Hon Members of The Edo State House of Assembly for the enactment of the law proscribing the ILLEGAL/COMMERCIAL OKAIEGHELE SYSTEM that was introduced by the enemies of the Binis to replace the proscribed CDAs.
“It is a known fact that land developers, particularly in Edo South, went through pains in the hands of CDA members when they operated.
“There was jubilation when His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare The 11 (OBAMWAN GHATO KPERE! ISE!) banned the CDAs on his accession to The Throne.
“However, they cleverly, came back by highjacking the age long OKAIEGHELE SYSTEM, in colloboration with some OGHIENVBO ELDERS and resurrected the banned CDA’s activities again.
“To God Be The Glory for this new Law. Sir. Sen.Roland Stephen Owie (KSJ),” said.
