Edo: Police Officers, Driver Crushed To Death By Failed-Break Truck Along Benin-Auchi Road

A Truck conveying petroleum products has crushed two police officers and a civilian driver in Edo State.

The two unfortunate officers served with the Crack Squad and the Anti-kidnapping and Cybercrime Unit of the Edo State Police Command.

The incident happened around Ogbemudia farms on Benin-Auchi road in Edo state.

The deceased are Sgt Uyi Ogbebor, Sgt Ikumesi Taiye and the civilian driver simply called Azubuike.

They were among ten other police personnel travelling to Afuze in the Owan East local government area of Edo state for an official assignment.

According to Standard Gazette crime correspondent Festus Alenkhe gathered that the Truck had a brake failure and rammed into the bus, killing three on the spot while seven others were severely wounded.

It was also revealed that the quick intervention of the fire service and other response teams prevented the tanker load of the Truck from the explosion.

The three deceased persons have been deposited in the mortuary, while the seven survivors are currently in the hospital.
