Adhara Perez, 10, girl genius from Mexico has an IQ higher than two of the world’s renowned physicists, Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking, the People reports.
Perez with an intelligence quotient (IQ) of 162, is two points higher than the estimated 160 of Einstein and Hawking.
The child genius, who has written a book about her experiences was also featured in Forbes México’s 100 Most Powerful Women in Mexico list.
Perez was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome which is on the autism spectrum disorders at 3 years old; a disorder that could affect social interactions.
Due to the difficulties the condition can cause with social interactions, Pérez struggled in school and was bullied by many of her mate, who sometimes called her “weirdo” and “oddball.”
Being bullied, Perez fell into deep depression as her teachers reported she showed lack of interest in her learning materials and would often sleep through classes.
Nallely Sánchez, her mother recognized that this behavior was not typical for her daughter, who often passed the time studying the periodic table and sought further help; taking Perez to a therapist where it was discovered how smart she actually was.
Due to the discovery, she was able to change environment and learn in a more suitable setting that was just right for the genius girl.
Perez was able to finish elementary school by the age of 5, middle school by age 6, and graduate high school by the age of 8.
Perez aspires to become an astronaut and travel to Mars, but first wants to attend the University of Arizona.
Perez is currently studying towards two college degrees, one in industrial engineering in mathematics and one in systems engineering.
Perez is not the only child genius to have been discovered in recent years; Freya Mangotra, 10, also achieved a result of 162 in the Mensa IQ test, the highest possible score for a person under the age of 18.
