Pius Alile’s Unfeigned Humility: The Breath Of Fresh Air That Egor/Ikpoba-Okha Deserve

Humility has always been claimed by all, particularly when seeking favour from the masses. It is a quality which endears – and for this every o puts it on as a garment during the electioneering period. For many it is like the wool a lion wears to walk among sheep to be accepted as one of them. For only a few it is like the natural cloak of the sheep – a matter of nature and character. Of this noble few is *Hon. Pius Alile*, who has stepped forward to seek the support of the people of Egor/Ikpoba-Okha to represent them at House of Representatives in Abuja.

Why is humility an important factor to consider when sending a representative to the House of Representatives? It is for the fact that a humble man makes the best representative. Why is this so? The humble easily identifies with the causes and the cries of those he represents. He does not find it below his quality, with new found status, to associate and lend a helping hand to those in need, particularly for whose sake he has been sent on a mission. The humble never shuts his door to the throng of constituents made up of the rich and the poor, the high and the low, and the beautiful and the ugly.

On the other hand is the haughty or the proud who only for election purposes pretends humility to be accepted. Interestingly they make a good job of it and beguile the poor party men and women to get their support. After the election it becomes another thing. The proud withdraws into its shell and fellowships with those he thinks match the status of his deserved acquaintance. In this situation, the party men and women become denied of access. The representative becomes only available for meetings of leaders and the elite who are in the minority.

It is about time we made the desired change by supporting and voting someone who epitomizes not just humility but empathy. A man you could always rely on to give you a shoulder to lean on. It is about time we should have a man who should deliver for the generality of his party and his people. That man is *Hon. Pius Alile*.

Alile has demonstrated the kindness which proceeds from his humility, in the past. He is still at it regardless of whether he wins or not. Kindness simply drips from his fingers like blood is pumped from the heart to other parts of the body. He cannot help himself from doing good, and this is the kind of Representative Egor/Ikpoba-Okha deserves.

Alile’s philanthropic gestures are evident as landmarks across the federal constituency, in the forms of community boreholes, road grading and electricity projects. That is besides the lives he has touched through his empowerment programmes.

A legislator is first and foremost not a physical project executor, even though this has become imperative in the Nigerian political system. A legislator, thus, has to have the requisite educational foundation and mental acuity to perform his original task of lawmaking excellently. On this score, Pius Alile is not wanting.

*Pius Alile* has had a solid educational background. He has pursued education to the point that he presently has masters in Social Sciences (Major) International Migration, and Cultural studies. He also has a PHD in view. What more can be asked of him by way of readiness to perform the task for which he presently seeks the support of his party and his constituency?

Without further Ado, I would like to enjoin the APC and the people of Egor and Ikpoba-Okha to support a man who will neither abandon them to fellowship with those of high taste nor avoid them when they need a helping hand.
