Four of the 12 victims of last Friday’s kerosene tank explosion at Kubwa Village Market, Abuja have died.
The victims were rushed to the National Hospital where the four died, it was learnt yesterday.
Five persons died instantly during the inferno, bringing the number of the dead to nine.
When the incident happened, many people within the vicinity thought it was a bomb blast due to the loud explosion.
It was much later that the situation became clearer when it was established that a large quantity of kerosene discharged by a tanker minutes before the explosion caught fire and exploded.
Some bystanders claimed it was adulterated kerosene.
The spokesman of the National Hospital, Abuja, Dr. Tayo Hastrup who spoke with our correspondent on the development and confirmed the four dead persons said the hospital and doctors are trying their best to save the lives of the accident victims
