We are currently witnessing a moment of truth in Edo state. Edo people voted for governor obaseki in the last gubernatorial election. They voted not because of governor obaseki’s track record of performance in his first term. They voted based on serious campaign of propaganda, lies and falsehood engineered by obaseki’s campaign team and social media champions.
In Edo South, Edo people voted against APC and Ize Iyamu because they wanted to get back to Adams Oshiomele who they say was playing a role of Godfatherism.
In Edo central, it was all about Ishan agenda. They bought into this false mantra not realising the political demons they were dealing with.
Today, APC and Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu are standing tall in the heat of the crisis between PDP and governor obaseki. The truth about governor obaseki’s personality and gross incompetence have now arrived into the public space and consciousness.
APC saw this personality flaws years ago and decided to deny him second term ticket.
In the light of recent development APC has been justified. I want to say Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu would have constituted his cabinet within days or weeks of being sworn in.
Pastor osagie Ize Iyamu would have had a functional legislative house of assembly by swearing in those that were elected to represent their people within days of being sworn in.
Pastor osagie Ize Iyamu would have ensure the local govt are run by elected representatives by now. APC led by pastor osagie ize iyamu would have regularised vigilantes in Edo state through working with communities and house of assembly. They would have had the necessary budget/funding and security in Edo state would have been prioritised.
Pastor osagie Iyamu that I know would not have exhibited this level of gross incompetence, and wickedness in governance.
Revocation of cfo’s of perceived political enemies, and forceful vaccination policy of obaseki’s govt.
Edo state in the last one year would have experience development in the political atmosphere, governance, stability and physical condition of the people.
In the light of this development we can confidently say, APC was right in its judgement. Yes indeed, governor Obaseki did not deserve a second term. The PDP must realised they made a mistake.
PDP must swallow their pride by apologising to Edo people.
