Auchi Poly Rector Felicitates With Otaru On Annual Auchi Day Annual Celebration

January 8th of every year, is a day set aside by the good people of Auchi not only to celebrate their culture, but to celebrate the Almighty Allah. A commemorative day of great importance I must admit, both within and outside Auchi Sacred Kingdom known as Auchi day!

The celebrations today, marked the 26th edition of the annual event which has taken an international dimension where sons and daughters of Auchi, distinguished personalities, residents, friends and well wishers come together in the community to celebrate Auchi alluring culture; featuring dance, music, food, sporting activities, display of hunting games within the kingdom, tug of war, etc. It is indeed, a colourful event celebrated with pomp, glitz and glamour as the blessings of the Almighty are celebrated by the inhabitants of the land. In the midst of the celebration, the spiritual essence of the day was not lost on anyone with prayers and Qur’anic recitations rendered for the blessings of Almighty upon the sacred kingdom.

I congratulate HRH Alhaji H.A. Momoh, Ikelebe III, the Otaru of Auchi Sacred Kingdom on this year’s celebration of Auchi day. I salute the Governor of Edo State His Excellency Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shuaibu for their roles in the development of Auchi. I also want to congratulate Dr. Muhammed Mustafa Lecky who chaired the occasion and the very erudite Guest Speaker, Sheikh Muhammad Munir Momoh (Hafiz of Auchi) who spoke glowingly on this year’s theme: “Islam our Way of Life”. Today was sure a day of thanksgiving, joy and celebrations in Auchi.
