The Rector of Auchi Polytechnic, Dr. Shehu Salisu Umar on Saturday honoured with a vocational service award by Rotary Club Auchi Metropolitan.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, the Polytechnic Rector Umar said, he is delighted and it is indeed an honour to be so awarded the Vocational Service Award by the Rotary Club of Auchi Metropolitan on the occasion of the Installation of Rtn. Lucky Azekhuoria Idahosa as the 17th President of the District.
He added that, he is excited and words failed him at the moment in expressing the deep emotions he feels upon the receipt of this award. However, he is very glad with utmost sincere gratitude to the President and members of the Rotary Club of Auchi Metropolitan for finding our modest efforts worthy of recognition on such a momentous occasion. Indeed, It is a huge honour for me and the entire Auchi Polytechnic community to receive this award.
Continue speaking, he congratulates all other awardees who were equally honoured. And salute all the wonderful works they’re doing in their various fields of human endeavour. 
He reiterated once more that, Rotary as a club, has achieved great successes a number of areas such as in leadership training programmes, mentorship, such organs like Rotary Foundation whose exploits are well documented as they have made life better in communities across the world. Rotary has also contributed in no small measure to the health care sector through its immunisation programme, etc. the list is endless. It is as a result of these noble goals being championed by Rotary that we as an institution, are proud to be associated with the club and its members as worthy partners, he added.
