The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed Dr. Michael Onolememen, Rt. Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama and Barrister Pascal Ugbome as the three validly elected senatorial candidates of the Peoples Democratic party PDP for the 2023 election.
According to a disclosure signed by Omale Samuel, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner for Edo State, Onolememen, a former Minister of Works is the candidate of the PDP for Edo Central Senatorial District.
Ogbeide-Ihama would contest the general election as candidate for Edo South while Hon. Ugbome is the party’s flagbearer for Edo North.
During the senatorial primaries conducted on May 23, Dr. Onolememen emerged candidate for Edo Central when he polled 123 votes to defeat his contender, Friday Itulah, former speaker, Edo state house of assembly, who scored 17 votes.
Pascal Ugbome garnered 140 votes to clinch the party’s ticket for Edo North senatorial district, while Ogbeide-Ihama scored 177 votes out of the 178 cast, to pick the ticket for Edo South.
