BREAKING: Court Restrains Edamwen Evelyn Asemota From Parading Her Self As Widow During Burial Of Late Captain Idahosa Wells Okunbo

An Edo State High Court sitting in Benin on Wednesday, issued an interim injunction, restraining one Mrs Edamwen Evenlyn Asemota from participating in the funeral, or.parading herself as widow of the late Dr. Captain Idahosa Wells Okunbo (JP).

The trial judge Hon. Justice V.O.A Oviawe, gave the orders following an exparte application filed by a Claimant/Applicant, Mrs Nosa Igiehon Okunbo In a suit numbered B/887/2021

Apart form an order seeking to stop the defendant from participating and parading herself as widow of the deceased, the applicant also sought an order of interim injunction, restraining the defendant from doing anything that will distrupt the said burial ceremony scheduled to begin on October 5, 2021, pending determination of the motion on notice.

When the matter came up for hearing today October 6, 2021, before his Lordship, Hon. Justice V.O.A Oviawe, the motion was moved by counsel to the applicant, Mr R.O Isenalumhe, who appeared with A.O Akintomide.

The court consequently, held as follows:

“I have carefully considered this application which is brought exparte . I have seen the affidavit of urgency and the affidavit in support of the motion together with the exhibits attached.

“I have also given consideration to the written address containing the submission of counsel and the legal authority relied upon.
