BREAKING: Edo Govt Clears Hospital Bill Of Student Hit By Dangote Truck In Auchi

Senator Monday Okpebholo has graciously cleared the bill of Miss Elizabeth who breathes via a pipe at Irrua Specialist Hospital. The Edo State Commissioner For education, Dr. Paddy Iyamu on Wednesday led a government delegation to visit accident victim, Elizabeth Obi at the Irrua specialist teaching hospital ISTH, to pledge government support for her and payment for her hospital bill.

The accident case of Miss Elizabeth Obi, who is a 22 years old final-year student was amplified on social media by Social media advocate VDM linked to a truck belonging to Dangote Group on 7th of September 2024 at the Auchi axis of Benin Auchi express road while on transit, was admitted at the Irrua specialist teaching hospital ISTH on 11th of September 2024 for medical attention.

The chairman, medical advisory committee CMAC, ISTH, Dr. Obagaye Olakule Michael said, the victim is responding to treatment after spending some time at the intensive care of the hospital, but requires a laser surgery to correct the obstruction in her breathing way, which can only be carried out in Kaduna because ISTH Irrua doesn’t have the requisite equipment for such surgery.

Dr Paddy stated that Senator Monday Okpebholo moved by her story has reiterated his commitment to stand by Miss Elizabeth and all Edo students to achieve their dreams.

Governor Monday Okpebholo’ has taken full responsibility of the victim’s medical expenses which has delayed further progress as her parents lacks the financial aid.The Commissioner reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to the well-being of its citizens, especially in times of distress, he added
