In a bold move to bolster support for the APC governorship candidate in Edo State, Chief Lucky Ohimai, a prominent APC chieftain, has made a strong inroad into the Owan West area of the state.
During a recent campaign visit to Sobe, Ohimai not only harvested several members from the opposing PDP party but also took significant steps to rally the community behind the APC’s candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
Addressing the people, Ohimai urged them to cast their votes for the APC, emphasizing that this would usher in a new era of massive transformation for Edo State. To demonstrate his commitment to the community, Ohimai made several generous donations.
He started by contributing 3 million naira as a palliative to the local market women, irrespective of their party affiliation. Furthermore, he donated 1 million naira each to the Okada Association and the youth in attendance.
But Ohimai’s generosity did not stop there. He also gifted a motorcycle to one of the PDP defectors to support their craft and provided an additional 500,000 naira to the decampees.
These strategic moves by the APC chieftain have undoubtedly strengthened the party’s presence in the Owan West region and raised concerns among the opposition especially the speaker of Edo state house of assembly, Hon Blessing Agbebaku, as the battle for the gubernatorial seat in Edo State continues to intensify.
