The government of Edo state will on September 1, announce names of appointees to serve as Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and others in the State Executive Council.
This revelation was made known by the Governor of the state, Mr Godwin Obaseki, during his statewide tour.
Governor Obaseki also assured Edo indigenes that the appointees, once announced, will reflect credibility, patriotism and sanity that his government represents.
Reacting to this revelation, a senior chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, who doesn’t want to be named due to the sensitive nature of the subject, stated that the Governor’s delay in announcing appointees for the government is justified when considering his vision for the state.
“Governor Obaseki’s delay in the naming of cabinet and other appointees was premised on the need for wide consultation amongst stakeholders in order to have a robust, credible and acceptable appointees that will assist him to deliver on the renewed mandate given him by the electorates. He needed to consult widely to assembly the best brains to deliver in the task to make Edo great again; this he has done”, he stated
