The campaign trail of Senator Monday Okpebholo, the APC governorship candidate, has once again been targeted by thugs allegedly loyal to the PDP.
The incident occurred as Okpebholo’s campaign team arrived at Ugbekpe Ekperi Ward 6 in Etsako Central local government, following successful rallies in Anegbette and Udaba.
This is the third reported attack on Okpebholo’s campaign, with the previous two incidents taking place in Benin and Akoko Edo. In Benin, the attack claimed the life of Inspector Akor Onu, and in Akoko Edo, it resulted in the destruction of APC campaign vehicles.
The latest assault on Okpebholo’s campaign team today is a clear point that PDP is not ready for a peaceful and transparent election in Edo state, with the APC candidate facing repeated attempts on his life and the safety of his supporters.
