Ahead of th All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention slated for February 26th, the Publicity Secretary of the Party in Etsako Central local Government Area of Edo State, Mr. Elias Inaede, has stated that the tripod in respect of the sharing of the National Office that will be Zoned to the State should be maintained.
Mr. Elias Inaede made the remark Friday in Benin City in an interview with Newsmen ahead of the National Convention.
According to him, there was need for the leadership of the Party as Progressive leaders to honour the gentleman agreement reached at the APC Caucus meeting held last year by Critical Stakeholders of the Party before the State Congress.
His exact Words ” I believe that APC is a Progressive Party that honours agreement whether written or verbal. The Status quo is that Edo South is presently having the State Secretary and the State Youth Leader, While Edo Central is having the State Chairman and the State Women Leader and Edo North the Second largest Senatorial district in the State is only left with the State Deputy Chairman and before now, the National Chairman. Edo North is presently marginalized with the sharing of party Offices.
The Publicity Secretary, reiterated that, zoning of the National Office of the Party alloted to the State to Edo North will not only ensure fairness, equity and justice, thereby breeding unity, peace and all inclusiveness in the running of the party.
The former Chief Press Secretary warned that any attempt by the leadership of the Party in the State to jettison the agreement reached by the Critical Stakeholders of the Party before the State Congress will be highly resisted by the members of the Party in Edo North Senatorial district.
Mr. Inaede further added that it will be a disservice and marginalization to the people of Edo North if the only National Office is taken away from them.
