Edo 2024: Senator Okpebholo’s Vision For Agricultural Renaissance And Modernized Farming

In the pursuit of agricultural revolution and the ambitious goal of feeding Edo State and the nation, Senator Monday Okpebholo and Rt Hon Dennise Idahosa have put forward a visionary manifesto. At the core of their administration’s agenda lies the transformation of Edo State’s agricultural landscape, shifting away from traditional subsistence farming towards modern, mechanised practices.

The Okpebholo-led government is steadfast in its commitment to equipping farmers with the tools and knowledge necessary to embrace advanced agricultural techniques effectively. To achieve this, comprehensive training and capacity-building programmes will be implemented, empowering farmers across the state.

Recognising that training alone is insufficient, the administration pledges substantial support to farmers. Access to high-yielding seedlings and modern farming equipment will be provided, aimed at enhancing productivity and driving agricultural outputs to new heights. By harnessing technological innovations and implementing best practices, the administration seeks to elevate the efficiency and sustainability of farming operations statewide.

Moreover, the government acknowledges the critical role of financial resources in fueling agricultural innovation and growth. Therefore, targeted financial assistance will be extended to agripreneurs, enabling them to invest in their enterprises and catalyse the pace of agricultural development in Edo State.

With a strategic focus on investment and collaboration, the Okpebholo-led administration envisions Edo State emerging as a shining example of agricultural excellence within the South-South region. By leveraging the expertise of stakeholders and harnessing the potential of modern farming techniques, the administration is poised to propel the state towards a future characterised by abundance and prosperity in agriculture.
