…Disquiet In APC as members are leaving in droves over candidate’s poor diction and lack of basic knowledge.

As the Edo gubernatorial battle slated for 21st September,2024 appears close, political parties and candidates are moving round to solicit for support, even across the sea. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Dr Asue Ighodalo has been seen having superlative outings and performance in his physical engagements and electronic visual meetings. However, the All Progressive Congress, APC, gubernatorial candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, recently flew to the USA to meet with the diasporan. It turned out to be his albatross. When asked what he would do differently in the health sector, Okpebholo confidently seized the podium and retorted: “There are no animals in the museum Obaseki said he built”.

It is laughable for a senator, and a gubernatorial candidate to think a museum can house animals in Nigeria. What then is the use of zoo? As if it was a trivial issue, he added that his government will allow the poor to breath. This is a complete evidence that Senator Monday Okpebholo is a misfit. No correlation between his answer and the question under review. *He is a complete embarrassment to APC and Esan nation.

In recent weeks ,notable members of the APC have expressed their frustration over the show of shame brought upon the party by Senator Okpebholo. Recall how it became viral when he was fielding questions from journalists that he has “created boreholes in Edo State” Recently, in his poorly coordinated skit using the flooded part of a GRA road to mock the government, he said: “We park our motor there, and use leg cross”

Party politics or affiliation aside, Monday Okpebholo has proved beyond every reasonable doubt that he is not fit and qualified to become a governor. You do not empower a dull person with a mandate to be doing try by error in governance. Electing Monday Okpebholo will be a monumental disaster.
