The martriach, Late Madam Charity Agbukor Asornomho, mother of the assistant editor of THE PROMISE Newspaper and popular community publisher, has been buried in Iviukwe, St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Late Madam Charity, who was born on November 30, 1950, breathed her last on May 28, 2024, having spent 74 years and 148 days.
She was buried at the church’s cemetery of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Iviukwe—Agenebode, Edo State.
In a sermon at the grave side, Sir Catechist Peter Kanabe described the late martriach as someone who was dedicated to serving God till her last breath while alive.
While outpouring of encomiums keeps on showering on the deceased from residents including that of other communities of Weppa and Uwanno kingdoms, Edo state eulogised the good legacies of late Madam Charity Agbukor during burial ceremony for the mother of THE PROMISE Newspapers’ assistant editor, Lucky Agbukor.
Late Madam Charity is survived by children: Mrs Naomi, Mrs Akhoba Victoria, Mrs Maria, Mr. Michael Abu, Mr. Lucky Apeakhuye-Agbukor, Mrs Onele Angela Samuel, and Miss Beauty Agbukor, among other grandchildren and relatives.
Speaking to newsmen in Edo after committing the remains of his mother to mother earth, Mr Lucky Apeakhuye-Agbukor stressed that the passage of his mother really touched him, saying “My late mother has really left a great vacuum too massive to be filled.
My mom was a noble woman and a reputable woman, a model to parenthood and to our generation. She was an inspiration to my way of life today. Although Asornomho died at 74, the journalist said his mother’s death was sudden, stating, “she could have stayed longer. She was not just a mother but a friend to me. We had closed ties. She advised me and always urged me to be strong in prayers. She will be missed by us, the children. ”
Before her last breath, more than 20 Catholic priests of Auchi Diocese have already said the Holy Mass for her, including Rev. Frs: John Aligamhe, Timothy Etsenamhe, Peter Egielewa, Christian Egwakhide, Daniel Evbotokhai, Peter Balogun, Augustine Ogane, Jude Sule, Justice Mbonu, others.
