A founding member of the People’s Democratic Party in Edo State, Mr. Samuel Iruonagbe has expressed disappointment over the dwindling fortunes of the party im Edo State.
The former Supervisory Councillor in Akoko-Edo loca government area took to his social media handle to remind the Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Mr. Philip Shaibu over their electioneering promises to the people of Ugboshi-Ele, fearing that the PDP may loose the area, if the governor reneges on his promises.
According to Mr. Iruonagbe, during the 2020 ward to ward campaigns in Aiyegunle, the governor and his deputy promised Ugboshi-Ele in Akoko-Edo local government area transformer but today, the member representing Akoko-Edo federal constituency, Hon. Peter Akpatason has provided it.
He said although they didn’t vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) but the same party, through Mr. Peter Akpatason has come to their rescue. He said, “we delivered for the PDP during the election but check, you did not fulfill your promise sir”.
While expressing worry over subsequent elections, the party leader said, “Sir, what’s our fate in delivering Akoko-Edo for the PDP in the next election? What are we going to campaign with? There’s absolutely nothing to show because we can see what the APC through Hon. Peter Akpatason is doing in Akoko-Edo”.
Continuing, he said through Akpatason, all the communities are enjoying dividends of democracy. His words, “MEGA, start to share dividends of democracy now, Akoko-Edo is shaking and may slip away”, he said.
