Edo Police Arrest Three Members Of AYE Who Beat Woman, Strip Her Naked, And Post Video On Social Media

Edo police command has arrested three men on suspicion of attempted murder.

The three men were arrested after they beat a woman to stupor and stripped her naked in Benin City.

The incident happened on 24 September 2021.

Trouble started after a woman identified as Olivia posted a video on Tik Tok, displaying signs of a secret cult group, popularly known as AXE men in Benin City.

They are John Omozele, Smart Ogbeide and Tajudeen Afesume.
The woman also talked in their slang, a move that angered the group.

Infuriated after the video went viral, some members of the group launched a search to track down the woman.

Trailed to Paulingo Hotel in Benin city, she was abducted and forced into a tricycle popularly called KEKE NAPEP.

In the video seen by Standard Gazette, the cultists are seen beating Olivia at an uncompleted building at covenant Road, Ute, Benin City.

While they asked her to explain herself, she was stopped severally with intense slaps and kicks while other group members recorded the event on their mobile phones.

She was stripped naked as she was seen and heard ordered to open her legs so they could record her private parts.

They then posted nude videos on the Internet, which later went viral.

The viral video prompted the Edo state commissioner of police, CP Philip Ogbadu, to explicitly direct the Edo state police command men to fish out the secret cult members who engaged in the act.

Three persons have now been arrested by men of the Edo state police command’s Anti Kidnapping And Cybercrime Unit.

They are John Omozele, Smart Ogbeide and Tajudeen Afesume.

Smart Ogbeide told Standard Gazette that “we saw the video the girl posted on tik tok where she was acting like a member of our cult gròup.

“We believed that she was mocking us and trying to bring us down. We then decided to treat her dangerously.

“I was arrested at Upper mission extension in Benin city.

“I was the one who gave the names of other persons involved to the police. I regret my action”.
