Efcc Declares Four Men Wanted For Internet-related Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has declared four men wanted for internet-related fraud.

In a statement released on Thursday, August 12 the EFCC agency declared wanted over a case of conspiracy, computer-related fraud, and obtaining money under false pretence.

The commission released the photos of the suspects as well as relevant details attached. Those declared wanted include Barnabas Johnson Akonjie, Opaogun Oluwasegun Akinola, Emeka Ayaunor, Solomon Efosa.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recently arrested Lucky Ebhogie, Richman Godwin, Israel Justin and Precious Iwuji for Internet-related fraud.

The suspected criminals were arrested on the 5th of August, 2021, in the Sabo area of Kaduna, following intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet fraud

The anti-graft agency revealed that preliminary investigation showed that the suspects were mostly involved in impersonation and romance scams; faking the identities of United States military personnel on foreign missions to deceive their victims.

This was contained in a statement on Wednesday by the EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, titled, ‘EFCC arrests son, mother, others for Internet fraud in Kaduna.’

The agency said Ebhogie allegedly recruited his mother into the scam by using her account to launder suspected proceeds of crime.
