A tragic incident occurred as an operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) committed suicide on Monday at his residence in Abuja.
PRNigeria gathered that the deceased, a member of Course 5, was described as diligent, efficient, and unassuming.
The Commission is exploring possible factors, including mental health and family challenges, that may have contributed to the operative’s depression and tragic decision.
When contacted on the incident, the EFCC spokesperson, Mr. Dele Oyewale told PRNigeria that an investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the suicide.
The EFCC has not released the operative’s name pending the conclusion of the investigation.
This suicide has sent shockwaves through the EFCC, and details will be provided as more information becomes available.
Meanwhile, the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has confirmed that a father and his son were injured as a commercial bus lost control on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on Tuesday.
Mr Adekunle Ajibade, South-West Zonal Commander of TRACE, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota, Ogun.
Ajibade said that a commercial bus heading towards Lagos from Sango lost control due to brake failure and rammed into the man and his son who were crossing the road.
Ajibade said that the father had a sight problem and the son was leading him to cross the road at Toll-gate when the accident happened at about 6.45a.m.
