Daniel J.Boorstin once said, ” The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge “. In the knowledge illusion, we tend to think what is in others’ heads is in our heads. In both cases, we fail to discern who knows what. Because we live inside a hive mind, relying heavily on others and the environment to store our knowledge, most of what is in our heads is quite superficial.
It is indeed very sad to note that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), for the 2023 House of Representatives election, Mr. Dekeri Sunday Anamero ( Danco), lacks total knowledge of the geographical delineation of the various clans in Etsako federal constituency, the same people he is aspiring to represent as a lawmaker. This goes to show that he does not know the number of clans in the constituency, let alone their Monarchs.
Recall that he, ( Danco) had in a statement during his campaign outing in Okpella, on Tuesday, 20 December, 2022, displayed his total lack of knowledge of the people he is soliciting their votes. As published on his official facebook page and endorsed by him, he said, ” ….My attention was drawn to Awan clan comprise of Agbede, Jagbe, and other communities as the only clan without a functioning Secondary School in the entire Etsako federal constituency… ”
Not only is the statement laced with total display of ignorance in the part of a man who hails from Etsako, and aspiring to represent them as a lawmaker, but also characterized by obvious mendacities. This worrisome trend of lying and deceit employed by the All Progressives Congress ( APC), is indeed very inimical to the growth and development of our dear Etsako federal constituency, as well as our nascent democracy.
To put the records straight on the issue of geographical delineation of clans and other issues raised, it therefore becomes highly expedient to state as follows:
(1.) That Agbede, Awain ( not Awan), Jagbe, and Aviele, respectively, are independent and autonomous clans in Etsako federal constituency.
(2.) That, each of the clans have well equipped Secondary schools, in their respective communities.
(3.) That, the over 28 kilometres road from Aviele to Anwain, which was abandoned by the Oshiomhole administration as Governor, was eventually influenced through Hon. Andrew Momodu and other illustrious sons and daughters of the Clan and has been constructed by the Obaseki administration to standard.
( 4.) That, the Rural Electrification Project which eventually connected these clans to the national grid was equally influenced by Hon. Andrew Momodu and others, through Senator Victor Kassim Oyofo, while the latter held sway as a Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria.
( 5.) That, Hon. Andrew Momodu’s source of wealth ( not riches), is legitimate, visible, and not irritating to anybody, or being suspected to have been acquired through unprintable means.
( 6.) That, he ( Andrew Momodu), is building and shall keep building long lasting institutions that will outlive coming generations, and not sharing Greek gifts aimed at bringing down our city of troy.
To this end, we hereby politely urge Mr. Dekeri Sunday Anamero and his handlers, to kindly get tutored on the geographical delineation of Etsako federal constituency, and desist from spreading falsehoods as a surreptitious way of manipulating the judgement of the electorates ahead of the coming election(s).
