Ex Military Personnel, 35 Others Arrested For Murder, Human Trafficking, Other Crimes In Ebonyi

The Ebonyi State Police Command yesterday, Tuesday 7th September 2021 paraded one Obaji Benjamin, who was an ex-Nigeria Air force personnel and 35 other suspects for alleged murder, fabrication, possession of illegal firearms and other crimes, Daily Post reports.

The Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Garba made this known to journalists during the parade of the suspects that took place at the command headquarters.

The police commissioner, also revealed that the command arrested suspected members of the Indigenous People Biafra, IPOB/ESN for allegedly been involved in the murder of seven innocent persons who hail from Ohaozara and Onicha LGAs and settings their cars ablaze over sit-at-home order Monday.

In his words, “One suspect, Obaji Benjamin, who claimed to be an ex-Nigeria Air force personnel, confessed to being a manufacturer of locally made rifles and equally claimed that he inherited the talent from his late father, who was a blacksmith”

Others arrested include; Nwankwo Friday ‘m’ 37 years and Eze Desmond ‘m’ 35 years was also for involvement in the manufacturing of locally made AK-47 rifles and six expanded shells of Barretta pistol, among other ammunitions.

He said: “We also paraded 35 suspects who were arrested for different offences, recovery of 24 rifles with over 1000 animations/rescue of four (4) abducted little girls who were trafficked to Ghana for prostitution.”
