Fleeing Housemaid Who Murdered Edo Ex-Governor Mother Arrested

Edo State Police Command has on Tuesday arrested one Dominion Okoro, in connection with the alleged murder of Madam Maria Oredola Igbinedion, mother of a former Governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion.

Wonderful media gathered that the suspect was arrested by the combined tactical team of the Nigeria Police in Edo State who trailed the suspect to Calabar, the capital of Cross River State.

Urban scoop report that She is currently being held at the Edo State Police Command headquarters in Benin City. But the State Police public relations officer SP Bello Kontongs is yet to make a public statement on this report.

You would recall that the 85- year-old died on 2nd December. And there were reports that Madam Maria was allegedly strangled to death or suffocated with a pillow by her housemaid, and the woman’s home was ransacked for her jewelries and money, which the housekeeper allegedly carted away and went on the run.

However, the report of the murder was not immediately confirmed by Edo State public relations officer, SP Bello Kontongs.

Maria who has since been buried, was first wife of the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion.

She is survived by her husband, chief Igbinedion, her children, former governor Lucky Igbinedion, Bright Igbinedion, Charles Igbinedion, Mabel Amadin, and many grand children.
