Hadi Abubakar Sirika is the former Minister for Aviation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is a former Member House of Representative, and former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where he represented Katsina North Senatorial District under the platform of Congress for Progressive Change in 2011 election cycle.
Sirika held the position of vice-chairman of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Committee set by the Nigerian Senate.

CAREER
Sirika’s political career commenced in 2003 when he was elected as a member of the House of Representatives which he completed in 2007.
In the year 2011, he was elected as a Senator for Katsina North Senatorial Constituency where he was a committee member on Aviation.
Having just joined the All Progressive Congress (APC) which was just newly merged in 2015, he was appointed as the Minister of State for Aviation and upon Buhari’s re-election in the year 2019, he was appointed the Minister of Aviation.
CONTROVERSY
There is an allegation that Sirika has been using his power and authority as a State Minister of Aviation to bring in his unqualified favourites into the ministry through dubious methods.
It was said that people who were called to commence training were completely different from people that were interviewed.
Furthermore, this set of people was far above the required age for employment which is 30 years.
There was also an accusation by the chairman of Westlink Airline, Captain Ibrahim Mshelia, about the level of secrecy that is put in place by Hadi Sirika regarding Nigerian Airlines that was proposed to start functioning by April 2022.
The captain said that Hadi Sirika is trying to build the airline in his own name and making use of Nigeria’s funds which he has no right to.
