In 1959 Lillian Jean Williams, , a British expatriate who lived in Nigeria composed the First National Anthem of Nigeria, It was adopted in 1960.. and replaced in 1978 with the present anthem, “Arise, O Compatriots”
As we Approach the end of the 2019-2023 Administration and the Beginning of Another Administration… May we All meditate and think deeply on the lyrics of our (First National Anthem) Below. it resonates to me RENEWED HOPE for our Dear Country … under Bola Ahmed TINUBU & Kashim SHETTIMA.
Indeed Our Dear Country “NIGERIA” Requires Good Citizens to Birth a Better Nigeria..
Nigeria we hail thee
Our own dear native land
Though tribes and tongue may differ
In brotherhood we stand
Nigerians all, are proud to serve
Our sovereign Motherland.
Our flag shall be a symbol
That truth and justice reign
In peace or battle honour’d,
And this we count as gain,
To hand on to our children
A banner without stain.
O God of all creation
Grant this our one request.
Help us to build a nation
Where no man is oppressed
And so with peace and plenty
Nigeria may be blessed.
AMEN ..
Regards
