The Edo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu, has extended warm Christmas greetings to Christian faithful across the state, calling on them to reflect on the virtues of love, peace, and togetherness as they celebrate the season.
In his Christmas message, Hon. Ohonbamu described the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ as a moment of spiritual renewal, gratitude, and reflection on God’s immeasurable gift to humanity. He emphasized that Christmas should inspire unity and strengthen the bonds that hold families and communities together.
“Christmas is a season of joy and divine love. As we celebrate, let us embrace one another with kindness, show compassion to the less privileged, and promote peace within our communities,” he said.
The Commissioner urged Christian faithful to uphold the teachings of Christ by living out virtues such as forgiveness, humility, and selflessness. He stressed that these values are essential for fostering harmony and driving sustainable development across the state.
Hon. Ohonbamu also commended traditional institutions and local government leaders for their continued collaboration with the state government in promoting stability and peaceful coexistence. He reaffirmed his ministry’s commitment to strengthening local governance, preserving cultural heritage, and enhancing community development.
