A former Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressive Congress,APC, for Edo South Senatorial District, Mr Valentine Owamagbe Asuen Popularly called “DVD Oil” has asked the embattled Deputy Governor of Edo State Mr Philip Shaibu to purge himself of the unnecessary Political Treachery which he has yoked himself with since he came into the Public Arena in 2007 and ask for forgiveness.
Mr Asuen who spoke with Newsmen in Benin over the recent Political imbroglio in Edo State asked the Leadership of the State to look at the issues critically and tell each other the home Truth .
He asked the Deputy Governor to critically examined his Actions, question himself on what he intends to achieve by Destroying others even those who have swallowed fire for him to establish his Political Career .
The Former Edo South Senatorial Candidate said at this time of the Nations life where Elder statesmen across Nigeria are looking for Solutions to assist their States to conquer Prevailing biting Global Social-Economic Hardships Mr Philip Shaibu and his Supporters are strategizing to further plunge Edo State into unnecessary Crisis where in his background benefits him alone.
He said whereas the Deputy Governor had nearly convinced all to almost believe that his fight with his estranged Political Godfather, Senator Adams Oshiomole was for the Common good of the People by warding him off the Governor of Edo State Mr Godwin Obaseki his recent open exhibition of crude and Marchiavelian Strategies to displace his Boss from the Political Leadership of the State and their Party has exposed his true Nature.
Mr Valentine Owamagbe Asuen recalled in 2022 during his electioneering Campaign into the Senate ,the Deputy Governor Mr Philip Shaibu impounded two of his Empty Trucks parked by his Petrol Station at Murtala Mohammed Way in Benin City adding that after all entreaties failed ,he extorted six million Naira from him.
He observed that even in Metropolitan Lagos LASTMA can not place a fine of such amount on wrong Parking .
On the six million Naira extortion the former Senatorial Candidate exonerated Governor Obaseki from the evil intentions of his Deputy towards him as he was aware that Mr Obaseki will not hurt a key player in the Private Sector him where he is continuously building the State through establishment of local Industries and creating massive employment
He said from then he realized that Mr Shaibu was not a true Son of the Soil contrary to his claim to be working for the progress of the State unlike the Governor of the State Mr Godwin Obaseki who has over the Years exhibited an uncommon zeal through Private Public Partnership to fast track infrastructural development.
The former Senatorial Candidate noted that Senator Adams Oshiomole’s Legacies ranging from Inter State Roads and the ones in Benin City including SILUKO , Upper Mission, Second East Circular Road, Five Junction, Second West Circular, while Dualisation of Akpakpava, Mission Roads and others to mention but a few remain in the memory of even the Blind and deaf.
He listed Ekperi-Anegbete ,Imiegba-Okpekpe, Ewohimi- Ubiaja , Ewohimi-Uromi ,Uneme – Ekpedo , Agenebode -Ibhioghen-Igiode -Uzanu Roads are also traceable to the good work of Senator Adams Oshiomole’s Tenure
He said the building of the New Arm of the Specialist Hospital Emergency Ward , Renovation of General Hospitals and Health Centres Across the State, Red Roof Revolution, Edo university Uzairue are still fresh in the minds of Edo People adding towards the end of his Tenure they had looked for a Competent and dependable Person who will fit into the ideals of the Party and sustain the 30 Year Developmental plan
The former Senatorial Candidate said Mr Godwin Obaseki had exhibited the good Character with Economic Expertise and Administrative Acumen to build and Consolidate on the Hallmark Projects .
Mr Asuen said true to the Expectations of all Mr Obaseki had hit the ground running on assumption of office with People Oriented Policies which till today shows in his reforms of the Civil Service and recently renovated Secretariat on Sapele Road,akin to the High Rise Buildings in the United States of America
as well as Massive Agricultural Entrepreneurial Exploits akin which will yield good returns to the States Treasury
He said he and other key Stakeholders in the Organized Private Sector especially the Indegenous Oil and Gas Business have enjoyed tremendous opportunities occasioned by Mr Obaseki’s Policies on Ease of doing Business.
He said but regrettably his Deputy Comrade Philip Shaibu for selfish reasons his Deputy embarked on unprofitable intrigues causing animosity amongst the Party Hierarchy which led unfortunately to his and his Bosses’ Exit from the Party.
He commended Governor Godwin Obaseki’s Approach to Governance where he has demonstrated a resilience to explore Private and Public Sectors to fast track Development noting that the Governor till today he remain an APC product from his record achievements in office and Expressed the belief that he will continue to work in line with the APC thirty year Economic Development Plan
He said he takes the Six Million Naira Mr Philip Shaibu extorted from him as a Loan to the Deputy Governor which he knows in the laws of existential Possibilities that he will refund with accrued interests.
The former Senatorial Candidate. who says he sees himself as an Elder statesman made Passionate Appeals to Senator Adams Oshiomole and Governor Godwin Obaseki to meet and reconcile their differences since they have identified their Detractor and focus more on the Edo Project
He said the need for Mr Oshiomhole and Obaseki to merge Fences and work again for the Growth of Edo State becomes more imperative as he has since observed that they both have Common bond and passion to impact on the People
