Jungle Justice Leaves One Dead, Two Critically Wounded

An angry mob in the Sule-Tankarkar local Government area of Jigawa State have meted out jungle justice on three suspected domestic animal thieves resulting in the death of one of the suspects.

The incident is reported to have happened at the Yandamo Fulani settlement.

An eyewitness who spoke to Daily Post on the condition of anonymity said the incident happened yesterday, Wednesday, September 1st 2021 when a number of angry youths from Amanga Village traced footprints of their stolen domestic animals to the house of one Alh Umaru Sale in Yandamo Fulani settlement.

The mob decided to engage in jungle justice by attacking three persons- Babangida Umaru, Amadu Sale and Manu Babangida suspected to be the thieves of the animals.

He said as a result, they sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The spokesman of the Jigawa State Police Command, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident.
He narrated that some angry mob traced their stolen animals at Yandamo Fulani settlement and attacked three persons suspected to be the thieves and ran away.

The police spokesman disclosed that a team of policemen rushed to the scene and the victims were rushed to Sule Tankarkar primary health care for medical treatment.

He said one of the victims, Ahmadu Sale died while receiving treatment as a result of the attack.

The police spokesman said eight persons have been arrested over the attack.

He said the state commissioner of Police, CP A S Tafida directs that the case should be transferred to SCID Dutse, for discreet investigation.
